Red Panic Button Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Ultimate Communication Software LTD (“we”, “us” or “our”), the developer of Red Panic Button (“the app”), handles personal information when you use our mobile applications. It covers access to contacts and location, emergency SMS messages, emails and calls, local storage, and your choices about deletion.

Red Panic Button works without a user account. We do not store personal data from your use of the app on our servers. Your selected emergency contacts are stored only on your device. When you activate an emergency alert, information is transmitted to your selected contacts as described below.

Data accessed and purpose

The app accesses the information needed to provide its emergency features: the contact details you select or enter, including destination phone numbers and email addresses; your device location for inclusion in an emergency SMS; and the message content and recipient details needed to send an SMS or email or initiate a call. These data are used to prepare and deliver the emergency actions you request.

Emergency contacts

You choose emergency contacts from the contacts on your phone. You can also enter an email address to receive emergency emails. The app uses the selected or entered recipient details to address emergency messages and calls. The selected emergency contacts are saved locally so that they remain available for later use. We do not store this emergency contact list on our servers.

Choose recipients you trust to receive your location and emergency messages, and keep their phone numbers and email addresses up to date.

Location information

The app accesses your device location to include it in the emergency SMS sent to your selected contacts. Location may be precise depending on the location permission you grant and the information available from your device. We do not store your location on our servers.

You can manage location access through your device settings. If location permission is denied, location services are disabled, or a location is unavailable, the app may be unable to include your location in the emergency message.

SMS messages and phone calls

When you activate the panic function, the app prepares an emergency SMS for your selected contacts. Depending on the platform, the SMS is sent automatically or requires you to press Send to confirm transmission. The SMS includes your location when available. The app can also initiate a phone call to a selected emergency contact.

These actions use your device’s messaging and telephone services. Recipients may see your phone number, message content and location, and call recipients may see your caller identification depending on your phone and network settings. Mobile service charges may apply.

Emergency emails

If you enter a recipient email address, the app automatically sends an emergency email to that address when you activate the emergency function. You do not need to press Send separately for the email. The recipient receives the email content and any personal information included in that content. The address is used to deliver the emergency email.

We do not store the recipient email address or emergency email content on our servers. Any recipient addresses saved as part of your emergency contact configuration are kept locally on your device.

Sharing and transmission

Your selected recipients receive the emergency information you send. Mobile network operators and email service providers involved in delivering an SMS, email or call process the information needed to carry the communication, including recipient addressing information and message content where applicable. Their handling and retention of that information are governed by their own practices and applicable requirements.

Processing data locally does not mean that an emergency alert stays on your device. Sending the alert necessarily transmits its content, including any location included in it. Recipients may save or forward the information. We cannot control or delete copies held by recipients, mobile service providers or email service providers.

Local storage and retention

The app retains your selected emergency contacts locally on your device so that you can use them for future alerts. They remain in the app’s local storage until that data is removed. We do not retain a server-side copy of your contact list, location or emergency messages.

SMS messages, emails and call records may also be retained separately by messaging, email or phone services, by recipients, or by the providers involved in delivery. Those records are separate from the app’s local contact list.

Deleting data and controlling access

To remove the app’s locally stored data, use your device settings to delete the app and its data. Where your device provides a Clear storage or Clear data option for Red Panic Button, you can use that option to reset the saved configuration, including selected emergency contacts. The available options and labels vary by device. Choose deletion of the app and its data rather than an option that preserves app data, such as offloading the app. Copies in device backups, if any, must be managed separately through your backup service.

Clearing the app’s data does not delete contacts from your phone’s address book or erase SMS messages, emails or call history held separately by other services. Manage those records in the relevant contacts, messaging, email or phone service. It also does not recall messages already sent or remove copies held by recipients, network providers or email service providers.

You can review and revoke the app’s permissions in your device settings. Revoking a permission may prevent the associated emergency feature from working. Because the app has no user accounts and we hold no server-side personal data from app use, there is no app account or server-side user profile to delete.

Security

Keeping the selected emergency contacts on your device and avoiding server-side storage limits the personal information held by us. Access to protected device functions is subject to your device’s permission controls. Protect your device with a screen lock, keep its software updated, and review the permissions you grant.

Ordinary SMS is not end-to-end encrypted. Its content, including location, is transmitted through mobile networks and becomes accessible to the recipient. Email security also depends on the services involved in sending and receiving the message; we do not promise end-to-end encryption for emergency emails. No device or communications system can guarantee absolute security.

Children and family use

The data handling described in this policy applies whenever the app is used. Parents or guardians helping a child use the app should review the selected emergency contacts and explain that triggering an alert sends information, including available location, to those contacts. Parents or guardians with privacy questions can use the contact details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the app or its data practices. We will publish the updated policy on our website and revise the date above. Where required, changes involving additional data access or use will be accompanied by appropriate notice and consent before that processing begins.
